Get all arrays of consecutive elements
Slide a window of a given size across an array.
function windows({ values, size }) { return size > values.length ? [] : values.slice(size - 1).map((_, i) => values.slice(i, i + size)); }
Input & expected output
Input
{
"values": [
1,
2,
3,
4
],
"size": 2
}Expected output
[
[
1,
2
],
[
2,
3
],
[
3,
4
]
]The edge case
Input
{
"values": [
1,
2
],
"size": 3
}Expected output
[]Know the limits
- A window larger than the array yields no windows.
The function above is the implementation used by the lab. The lab validates JSON types and caps size before execution; include equivalent validation when accepting untrusted input in your application.

Keep exploring
- Clone an array — Create a new array without copying the objects inside it.
- Remove duplicate values — Keep the first occurrence of each value, in its original order.
- Flatten a nested array — Turn a nested array into one sequence of values.
