## Implementation

```javascript
function isBic(value) { return /^[a-zA-Z]{6}[a-zA-Z0-9]{2}([a-zA-Z0-9]{3})?$/.test(value); }
```

## Input

```json
"DEUTDEFF"
```

## Expected output

```json
true
```

## Edge case

Input:
```json
"DEUT1EFF"
```
Output:
```json
false
```

## Limits

- This checks the ISO 9362 format only — not that the institution or country code exists.

The lab validates types and size before calling this function. Add equivalent validation at your own trust boundary.
