Version: 1.0.0
Runtime: JavaScript · Node.js 22 / modern browsers
Verification: Local fixtures; no external services

## Implementation

```javascript
function baseUrl(url) { return url.split(/[?#]/)[0]; }
```

## Input

```json
"https://example.com/unsubscribe?token=abc"
```

## Expected output

```json
"https://example.com/unsubscribe"
```

## Edge case

Input:
```json
"https://example.com/#top"
```
Output:
```json
"https://example.com/"
```

## Limits

- The original removed only the query; a fragment is not a parameter either, so it is dropped too.
- Use new URL() when you need to keep or edit specific parameters.

The lab validates types and size before calling this function. Add equivalent validation at your own trust boundary.
