function toUnixPath(path) { return path.replace(/[\\/]+/g, '/').replace(/^([a-zA-Z]+:|\.\/)/, ''); }
```
## Input
```json
"C:\\Users\\ana\\report.pdf"
```
## Expected output
```json
"/Users/ana/report.pdf"
```
## Edge case
Input:
```json
".\\docs\\readme.md"
```
Output:
```

## Limits

- The drive letter is discarded, not mapped to a mount point.

The lab validates types and size before calling this function. Add equivalent validation at your own trust boundary.
